Before clothes hit the stores, they must go through a rigorous design process that takes the clothing of a concept to a finished product. At the heart of the process is the adjustment model that allows a designer to test the discs wear essentially a market.
Acting as a live model, adjustment models use their modeling traits and skills to help the company design team to see how the look of the garment and moves on a true person to person. Fit Modeling is not as glamorous as, for example, fashion modeling (you will never appear in a photo shoot or runway show), but many models are satisfying to work side by side with people who make a reality mode.
Measures have a standard with the industry body
First, all the adjustment models must have a well-proportioned body that responds to standard measures. For female models, customers usually look for someone 5’4 ” to 5’9 ” with 34-26-37 measurements. For male fitting models, customers usually prefer a height of 6’1 ” or 6’2 ” with 39-34-39 measurements.
Please note that these figures represent the typical dimensions of an adjustment model. Actual figures may vary from customer to customer, everyone’s needs are different. In addition, there is also a demand for children, teens, petite, plus size, and even maternity adjustment models.
Having a flexible schedule
Fit modeling is not a new job in five. Shifts vary from week to week depending on the season and the number of samples that are ready for use, and you may have to work on an “on-call”.
Be strong physically and mentally
You may be asked to stay still for long periods of time while the designer pin, cut, pull, and stretch clothing in perfection, or walk to give designers a better idea of how the garment moves. You can even pretend to get into a car, dancing up a storm, sitting at a desk, or almost anything a real customer would. And because the connectors typically last three to five hours, you must be physically fit to do the job well done.
Being able to work with public
If you are the type who is shy uncomfortable to dress (and undress!) In front of the other, then the adjustment model may not be the best job for you. The designers and clothing technicians will want to see how easily you can get in and out of clothing to identify small technical errors, like a zipper being too short or too tight armholes to fit in comfortably.
Learn about trends and fashion Fit
Fit models are not only live models. More than anything, they are there to take the place of customers and provide designers with valuable feedback on the fit, the feel, and movement of the garment. Is it comfortable? Is the fabric too rough? Can you raise an arm without ripping a seam? Are the shoulders drawn? Does it go too high (or too low) during daily activities? These small details can make or break a garment, you must be an excellent communicator who is comfortable to express your views to the customer.
If you do not have a background in technology or fashion design experience, it is a good idea to take some courses to learn the basics. The more you know what happens in the production of a garment, the ratings better you will be able to give. And this, of course, means that you will be hired and rehired over and over again.
Having the right connections
As with all types of modeling, the more exposure you have, the better chance you will have to do in the industry. By submitting your photos to an agency model scouting reputable, you will be seen by top modeling agencies in the world. It is a safe, legal and affordable to make the connections you need to start your fitness modeling career.
